Location: Los Angeles, CA  Date: May 11, 1991
Setlist: Right Next Door To Hell, Mr. Brownstone, Dust N' Bones, Civil War, Godfather Theme, Pretty Tied Up, Live And Let Die, 14 Years, Yesterdays, Double Talkin' Jive, Patience, Drum Solo, Rocket Queen, Knockin' On Heaven's Door, Estranged, Bad Apples, You Ain't The First, It's So Easy, Bad Obsession, Don't Cry, Sweet Child O' Mine

Information: The second warm up show for the "Use Your Illusion"-tour. The setlist may not be 100% accurate. Slash and Duff called the local record station KLOS and announced that GnR would be playing that night. The show sold out shortly. During "Patience" Axl jumped off the stage and ran through the crowd. Shannon Hoon from Blind Melon joined the band for "You Ain't The First" and "Don't Cry". "Bad Apples" is also performed, possibly the only time during the tour. Big aftershow party for the fans.

In Their Own Words

Matt: The drum solo is great. I never got to do one when I was with the Cult. Actually, I never did one before Rio. Hopefully they'll keep getting better. It's really cool of the guys for letting me do it.1

Del James: Getting better. Eight and a half (outta ten).2

Axl: In L.A. we didn't play 'Jungle' or 'Paradise,' because we'd already played for over two hours. I didn't want to push my voice any harder. Also, we didn't want to push past the curfew and be fined eight grand for one song. It felt a little bit like I ripped some people off, but I knew they were happy with what we had done. I thought we went over real well in L.A., but I still look at it as rehearsals. I'm not really worried about what critics have to say about these gigs, but if they like these shows, in six months they'll be real happy."3

Slash: We had three theater dates in LA, San Francisco and New York, with various bands opening for us, such as Blind Melon and Faith No More and Raging Slab.4

Slash: After the Rio gigs, we started off with three warm-up club gigs - with Blind Melon in LA, Faith No More in San Francisco, and Raging Slab in NYC.5

Heard From The Stage

Axl: This next number is my favorite song of the set, because I don't have to sing, and I can kick back and watch the guys. It features Slash Corleone Guido Sarducci on guitar. This is something we call 'Godslobber'.
