| Lyrics | |
| Yesterday, there was so many things I was never told Now that I'm startin' to learn I feel I'm growing old 'Cause yesterday's got nothin' for me Old pictures that I'll always see Some things could be better In my book of memories Prayers in my pocket And no hand in destiny I'll keep on movin' along With no time to plant my feet 'Cause yesterday's got nothin' for me Old pictures that I'll always see Some things could be better If we'd all just let them be |
Yesterday's got nothin' for me Yesterday's got nothin' for me Got nothin' for me Yesterday, there was so many things I was never shown Suddenly this time I found I'm on the streets and I'm all alone Yesterday's got nothin' for me Old pictures that I'll always see I ain't got time to reminisce old novelties Yesterday's got nothin' for me Yesterday's got nothin' for me Yesterday's got nothin' for me Yesterday Yesterday |

"Yesterdays" was played occasionally during the "Use Your Illusion" tour. Notable Performances:
|
|
| In Their Own Words | |
| Axl: [The piano] was never in the song until we recorded it. It just
happened. I can see [that there's a Beatles touch]. It's just the tones and what we were
influenced by and trying to get a certain vibe across. Duff: "Theres a really cool song called Yesterdays that West (Arkeen) has written the lyrics for. Axl: There's stuff like "Heaven's Door" and "Civil War" and the song "Yesterdays" and a song called "Breakdown", that definitely have a bit of a southern rock feel. I'd say "Paradise City" like in the chorus has that, and "Sweet Child" kinda has that. Axl: I love singing "Yesterdays". |
