What's up with the fanbase these days?
April 10, 2008. Written by MJ23, GnRsource.com

Over the last days two announcements were posted on Guns n' Roses' homepage, Dr. Pepper made some intended press release, Nine Inch Nail's website had two pictures of Robin Finck posted.
I browsed through a bunch of websites and fan forums and noticed that only Guns n' Roses fans who are organized in forums are acting this way. I haven't seen it nowhere else so far.

That's why I want to take a kind of deeper look in the situation these days.

Basically there are four types of GnR fans.

1) The "I don't care" type:
It doesn't matter what happens with the band, the fan just waits for a release or a tour.

2) The ex-Guns n' Roses supporter:
These fans claim that GnR ended after Use Your Illusion. They focus on the old and deny to aknowledge that the band is still existing. Some of them even like to make cheap shots at the band and start to spread rumours.

3) The anti-Axl fan:
This fans just dislikes everything Axl has done or is doing. No matter what it is, this fan is against it.

4) The pro-Axl and pro-current lineup fan:
This fan supports everything about the current guys, some of those even don't like the lineup that made the path for success in the 80s.

It is a pity that Guns n' Roses fans are not joining forces and support the band. Unfortunately every fan section tries to make people believe that their support is the right one. And by all of these small fights on forums and websites we are losing precious energy. I am pretty sure that if the fan base would speak with a united voice or even a more united voice than now, people connected to Guns n' Roses would maybe see the need for more direct conversation with the fan base.

Who knows?

Just two small closing note on this:
Neither Axl nor the band does owe us anything!
Whenever the band feels right for a release, they will make it.
And ... nobody wondered why they play only pre-Use Your Illusion-written material?
Maybe there is indeed some legal stuff going on in the background.
Someone may point out that on a setlist picture posted on October 31, 2006 on the official website
there was "Perfect Crime" listed. But remember the song was first performed even before Appetite For Destruction
was released.
So stop blaming the band for old setlists, old songs and other things when we may have not the slightest information about what is going on.

But that's the GnR fanbase in 2008.
