Words of Wisdom

Back in the eighties, record-industry producers tried to impress us by showing us their collection of gold and platinum records. We were like, "Do you have anymore Jack Daniels?"

Hello

Haven't been on the forum in quite along time (time files)

Anyway, i always keep up to date with GN'R news. After reading bumble new interview with Jedbranger Magazine, it got me thinking when bumble said : "I would say that it became more rock n' roll, it was too industrial. I played rhythm guitars on every song, and I tried to make it sound lighter, less industrial. I don't have anything against industrial music, but I really wanted to add some rock n' roll to this album."

Did the original concept of CD kind of fade away ? Personally i think it did, it nearly impossible to keep your original intentions on a project after you spend so much time on one, sometimes that good and other times, you lose what you were gonna say or do like make a statement or try to put the group in a new light. If you look at the progression of the line-up, it almost the industrial stuff ended when bucket left, you look at the guitarists that now have joined the group there both more classic clean sounding guitarists, not that bad at all, but there is a part of me that would of liked to hear the album or music in height of nu-gnr.

interesting, and i never thought of that, but it makes sense that the songs would progress in the length of time that was spent on this album. plus the band members so ever-changing, it would be almost impossible to keep in the same scheme of things.

Well, I'd be really curious to hear the Sean Beavan/'99 sessions (Rose/Huge/Finck/Stinson/Freese/Reed/Pitman), I guess it's the most 'industrial' version of the album.
The 2001/2002 version (with Bucket and Brain, no Bumblefoot and Frank yet) would be interesting too.
